RSC Speciality Chemicals Symposium 2010: Elements of Success - F, S, B and Li
|
Description: |
Fluorine, sulfur, boron and lithium derivatives are widely used in the speciality chemicals industry for the manufacture of niche products with very specific applications. On the first day of the symposium two sessions will be held with the morning session dedicated to fluorine and the afternoon session to sulfur, both elements of strategic importance to the speciality chemicals industry. The second day will be devoted to sessions on the use of boron and lithium chemistry in speciality chemicals production. Each session will include presentations related to new commercial developments either from a synthesis, manufacturing, use or market application viewpoint.
ATTENDANCE AT THE SYMPOSIUM IS FREE & DELEGATES CAN PICK AND CHOOSE WHICH LECTURES THEY ATTEND
The Symposium will be held in conjunction with the Chemspec Europe and Chemsource Exhibitions organised by Quartz Business Media to be held at Messe Berlin, Germany on 9 and 10 June 2010. The symposium and exhibitions will attract a broad range of visitors from across the fine and speciality chemicals industry.
Lectures will take place between 10.30 and 15.45 on 9 June and 10.00 and 14.30 on 10 June allowing delegates ample time to visit the concurrent Chemspec Europe and Chemsource Exhibitions.
The conference will be run alongside the Chemspec Europe and the Chemsource Exhibitions.

Chemistry in the Oil Industry XI: Regulation Meets Innovation - Moving Forward |
|
Chemistry in the Oil Industry XI: Regulation Meets Innovation - Moving Forward
|
Description: |
The primary objective of the symposium is to showcase new chemistry albeit within
an increasingly regulated marketplace.
REACH and OSPARCOM Regulations are with us and two sessions of the
symposium will focus on what the current regulations are and some of the
thinking behind how legislation may develop in the future. Meeting REACH
requirements can be very expensive for raw material producers, formulators and
end-rs and speakers will show how companies can work in SIEFs and
Consortia to minimize the cost of their businesses becoming REACH compliant.
In addition, the symposium will cover all aspects of chemistry in the upstream and
downstream sectors of the oil and gas industries. There will be a particular
focus in the upstream sector on innovative chemical solutions which can be
applied to extend the economic life of mature wells or to enhance the
profitability of new fields while meeting increasingly stringent environmental
regulation.

Royal Society of Chemistry Symposium 2009: 'Catalysts for Change' |
|
Royal Society of Chemistry Symposium 2009: 'Catalysts for Change'
|
Description: |
Within the speciality chemicals industry, catalysis is widely used to replace or improve an existing process for an existing product or to create a new process for a new product. Many of these catalysts are speciality chemicals themselves with their own manufacturing challenges. Recent developments in the manufacture, use and re-use of catalysts is the theme for the 2009 Royal Society of Chemistry Symposium: "Catalysts for Change"
Themes include:-
How Catalysis is "Changing the Rules" about Possible Chemistries
How Developments in Catalysis and Catalysts are Influencing Process Configuration and Engineering Options
Catalysis and Process R&D - Speed to Profit

|
FRT09: Fire Retardant Technologies 2009
|
Description: |
The Speciality Chemicals and Applied Materials Chemistry Groups of the Royal Society of Chemistry are organising this two day international symposium.
Fire Retardants are a multi-billion pound industry providing protection to people and property in all walks of life and particularly in areas such as mass transport, furnishings, construction, electrical equipment and electronics.
Different fire retardant strategies have evolved from halogen flame retardants to metal hydroxides and more modern char forming and intumescent fire retardants. More recently phosphorus based materials and nanocomposites have shown potential to reduce the flammability whilst addressing environmental concerns.
